The Minnamurra Experience

Minnamurra is a relaxed coastal village located at the entrance of the Minnamurra River and the Pacific Ocean, near Kiama on the NSW South Coast. The Minnamurra River originates in the Southern Highlands near Bowral and finds its way to the Minnamurra Falls, winding through the picturesque Jamberoo Valley until it meets the ocean, at Minnamurra village.

The river entrance is bounded by a headland to the south and sandspit and state recreation park to the north. The minnamurra boatshed retreat is located with direct water access to the pristine water of the Minnamurra River.The river provides a diverse playground for swimming, snorkelling, fishing, surfing, boating, kayaking and the very popular SUP boarding. Surf skis, boogey boards and a small row boat are supplied for your enjoyment.

You can also enjoy the tranquility of the Minnamurra beach and sandspit and observe the tidal pools, soldier crabs and abundant birdlife. The minnamurra boatshed retreat is equally enticing as an escape during the cooler months. The house provides sunny north facing rooms, comfy sofas, an assortment of books, C.D’s, DVD’s and boardgames to enjoy, all with a view of the ever changing, coastal scenery. The hammock in the boatshed is a favourite spot to relax and read or snooze.

Minnamurra village is a combination of original fishermen’s cottages and new dwellings. There is a small cafe/general store, 2 minutes walk from the house, supplying breakfast, simple lunches, home made cakes and excellent coffee.

The Minnamurra Headland walking track is one of the many options for exercising or simply exploring the local area. It passes spectacular coastal scenery; river, headland, ocean, cliffs. You can also walk into Kiama along a picturesque, coastal walking track.There are several local golf courses in the area. Kiama Golf Course is within walking distance, as are local tennis courts.

Minnamurra boatshed retreat is a great base from which to explore some of the South Coast’s most beautiful beaches and rural areas. Or, you may wish to simply stay put, de-stress and enjoy the waterfront, garden areas and tranquil environment. Fast internet speed via the NBN may also allow for work while you are away should the need arise.
